TORRIDON YOUTH HOSTEL MEET (2 OCT - 4 OCT 2009)

Eleven club members attended the Torridon Youth Hostel weekend meet:
Gregor, Bob, Malcolm, Leslie, Andy, Kasia, Elsie, Chris, Deirdre, Cliff and Katrina.

On the Friday,
Andy ascended Meallan nan Uan and Sgurr a'Mhuilinn in Strathconon;
Leslie ascended Sgurr Dubh and Sgorr nan Lochan Uaine in Torridon;
Kasia and Gregor ascended Sgurr Breac and A'Chailleach in the Fannaichs;
Malcolm and Deirdre ascended Ben Wyvis.
The weather was good in the morning but became increasingly wet and blustery in the afternoon.

On Saturday, the North-West Highlands forecast suggested gusts to 100mph together with persistent rain.
The Saturday morning MetOffice forecast suggested things would be a bit better so four 'foul-weather' walkers set off to bag some hills.
Andy, Malcolm, Chris and Leslie ascended Beinn na h-Eaglaise.
Chris and Leslie then went on to also ascend Beinn Damh (while Andy and Malcolm headed to the Torridon Inn)
Gregor, Kasia, Bob and Dierdre headed to Applecross for some superb food at the Applecross Inn.

On Sunday, Elsie, Deirdre, Bob, Malcolm, Kasia, Gregor, Cliff and Katrina all set out to ascend Beinn Liath Mhor and Sgorr Ruadh. Chris accompanied the group up Beinn Liath Mhor and then set off to ascend the Corbett Sgorr an Lochan Uaine.
